On April 20, 2026, it was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation the determination accepting the interested party’s request and declaring the initiation of the administrative anti-dumping investigation procedure on imports of converted thermal paper rolls originating in the People’s Republic of China, regardless of the exporting country, with the following bullet points:

Rolls of thermal paper converted or processed for end use. They are known commercially as: thermal paper rolls, thermal paper rolls converted or made for end use, converted thermal paper rolls for cash registers/POS, thermal roll for ticket printer, and paper roll for point of sale machines; and technically as: heat-sensitive thermal paper rolls, paper rolls for direct thermal printing and chemically coated paper rolls for thermal printing.
The converted thermal paper rolls consist of a paper base coated with a thermosensitive chemical layer that, when heated by the print head, reacts and forms the image without the need for ink. The specifications can be as follows:
- Weight: from 44 to 80 grams per square meter.
- Width: from 37 to 150 millimeters.
- Length: from 5 to 1,600 meters.
- Core: cardboard or plastic.
It comes in small or medium-sized rolls and can be easily carried in one hand, to be installed in a printer machine at a point-of-sale terminal, convenience store printer, department or ATM of a bank
